Whereas our DA-1.1 and DA-2.1 were designed to fill a house with music, our new Audio Reference systems are designed specifically for the dedicated listener. We went back to the drawing board with these designs, our goal to shift the balance from a room sized sweetspot to greater imaging and soundstage. In the process we evaluated every component to see where we could improve the systems for lower distortion, better efficiency, and most importantly a more natural, accurate and musical reproduction of the source. The changes are dramatic, music is now three dimensional and palpably real. The new Audio Reference Series is not necessarily 'better' than our Home-H/T Series, the component changes and improvements of these new designs have translated to the DA-1.1 &DA-2.1. There is the same level of quality throughout each of our designs. Each model is for a different application.. there are no entry-level products, no corners have been cut. I have long believed that speaker efficiency is crucial to real life dynamics. Coupling high efficiency with high power handling makes for effortless reproduction of music, these speakers are never working near their limits and have the speed and headroom to recreate a live musical experience. |
